![]() Honestly, based on this experience, I'll probably never buy another Samsung product period. It probably goes without saying, but $2,200 is a lot of money for a gaming monitor. I will never buy another Samsung monitor. Obviously I'm jumping at the chance to get the refund. Unfortunately they are apparently completely out of replacement panels, so I got an email yesterday informing me that they are just going to refund me. I argued it out with Samsung support, and they (luckily) agreed to repair my monitor three weeks ago. ![]() Updating the firmware is a difficult and finnicky process, I hope you like messing around with formatting your USB key exactly right, and make sure you put it in the correct back-USB port. There are often noticable scanlines at 240hz with a large variety of productivity software (Outlook seems to be particularly bad). I get screen flickering coming out of standby mode with my PC on Display Port (requiring a power cycle of the monitor to fix), and I need to set it to AV mode when using it with a Macbook on HDMI or else the entire thing has a sickly pink hue. I've had it for just over a month and a bit now, and already there's one stuck blue pixel, and one dead blue pixel. It took them until late November to get it to me, despite the fact that fulfilment was happening from Best Buy within a week during the same timespan. I ordered mine direct from Samsung (huge mistake) back in August. Buying Adige for anyone that sees this, GET IT LOCALLY and if it shows issues take it back straight away for a new one. Is crazy now something so expensive can have so many QC issues from Samsung, especially if it’s their flagship premium monitor they are bragging about. New one doesn’t have any issues and I’m very happy with it. Returned it but made sure on collecting a new one that they gave me one from a different batch with the different last 4 SN digits, they only had one in stock that wasn’t from the same batch and they gave that to me, then gave me money back for a discount sake that was going on it the next day, so got aj extra $250 off, then another $200 off on top of that cause I got it with the credit card and they had a deal specific to that credit card going live that day. Decided to take the risk but bought one locally, cake with dust behind the screen causing dead pixel effect. Thankfully I live in Australia where our consumer rights are very good. If anyone else knows of another comparable monitor, I'd gladly go with that, but there doesn't seem to be a direct competitor. (From my local Best Buy, so I can pick up a reliable warranty.) The CRG9 doesn't have Gsync, and the Neo G9 is like a thousand dollars more expensive with similar issues, so I'll probably be buying the G9 anyways. I'm currently shopping for a new monitor, and I can't find anything that seriously competes with the G9 except other Samsung monitors. With the current issues, the G9 definitely not worth paying 2500$ for, but they're currently selling for around 1k-1.3k, which is about the same price as two separate monitors with the same features/quality. The only other monitor that comes close is the previous generation CRG9, which doesn't come with Gsync, which is an essential feature for me. I'm aware that a lot of people are having issues with it, but I'm not aware of any other monitor that has the same number of features and the same resolution, aspect ratio, and refresh rate.
